Miltenyi Biotec inaugurates India’sfirst cell andgene therapy centre of excellence in Hyderabad

March 6th, 2025, Hyderabad – Miltenyi Biotec, a global leader in cell and gene therapy (CGT) solutions, launched India’s first-everdedicated cell & gene therapy center-of-excellence (CoE) in Hyderabad. With this launch, Miltenyi Biotec reinforces its commitment to India. It also furthers the vision of the company to advance cutting-edge biotechnology and foster innovation in India’s rapidly growing life sciences sector. 

Spanning 1,800 sqm in Genome Valley, India’s leading life sciences hub, MITC (Miltenyi innovation and technology center) is designed to advance cell and gene therapy development. It will foster innovation by integrating expertise, best practices, and cutting-edge technologies to combat diseases, including cancer. The facility features a showroom with advanced MACS® instruments, a CliniMACS Prodigy® platform for therapy development and manufacturing, and interactive training opportunities. It will serve as a collaborative hub, hosting seminars and workshops in immunology, stem cell biology, cancer, and other key areas.

MITC was inaugurated by Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary for the Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C), and Industries & Commerce Departments of the Government of Telangana and Dr. Kathrin Misera-Lang, Consul General (interim) of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of India, Chennai. They were joined by Dr. Boris Stoffel, Chief Commercial Officer, Member of the Board, Miltenyi Biotec B.V. & Co. KG, Priya Hingorani, Managing Director, Miltenyi Biotec India, Mr. Shakti Nagappan, CEO of Telangana Lifesciences, and Hon. Ms. Amita Desai, Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hyderabad. 

Shri D Sridhar Babu, IT and Industries Minister of Telangana emphasized, “The inauguration of MITC showcases Telangana’s growing role as a hub for life sciences research and innovation.
