Black Soil Being Transported from SRSP Project Area
Nirmal District, Staff Reporter, Dt 10th June: Nirmal, A dump truck loaded

with black soil was spotted on the Rathnapur–Kaandli village, Dilawarpur Mandal road in Nirmal district, drawing the attention of local residents. Allegations have surfaced that black soil is being transported on a large scale from areas under the SRSP project jurisdiction. Since excavation and transportation of natural resources within project areas require permissions from the concerned authorities, questions are being raised about whether the activity is being carried out legally.
According to locals, dump trucks have been frequently seen using this route in recent days. Residents fear that excessive excavation of black soil could harm the environment and affect the fertility of agricultural lands. If unauthorized mining is taking place, it could also result in revenue loss to the government. Locals have urged officials from the Revenue, Mining, and Irrigation Departments to conduct a joint inspection and verify the facts. They have demanded strict action against those responsible if any illegal excavation or transportation is found.
